When I started Zero to Med, I had no idea that I would grow so much in the months that followed. I have not even been blogging for a month, but already, at least one hundred people come a day to read my blog. And you know, that is a really great feeling. When I started out, I’ll be honest, I had no idea what I could write about…I was talking to my friend about what I should write about and he said, “write about what ever! People are going to come to your site to hear about all different kinds of things, that’s what a personal blog is all about.”
I never intended on monetizing it and the truth is, I don’t really monetize it all that much. Sure, I might throw in a blog post sponsorship here and there, but the truth is, I have pretty much given up on using adsense and auction ads on the site. I might at a random time throw the ads onto the site, but I don’t really need them anymore. I may not being making much money, but the truth is, I am having fun and I am enjoying every day of it. I am expanding. I own six sites. My science forum is growing. My blog about how to make money online and offline is growing. Everything is working well.
So…What now? I can only do what every webmaster has to do. Continue working. Sure, I am not making tons of money, but now that I have tweaked ads on some of my sites, I have seen an increase. Sure, I may not be making much, but things are changing. And because of those changes, I am going to be putting up a new blog theme for this site. I will have it up in the next day or two. You’ll notice at the footer (when it is up), that there is a link to dorm earning. I decided to experiment with that kind of link promotion. If all goes according to plan, dorm earning might see a nice boost in growth. We’ll have to wait and see.
It takes a lot out of me to write these blog posts. Buy me a beer to cool me off!
