Well, I stepped up like I said I would and I got to work on learning how to use dreamweaver. Let me tell you, I am having an overload. My brain is killing me because of all this man’s talking. My Mom had a video tutorial, so I am using that to better help me learn it. I figure if someone is lecturing to me, I might have a better chance of really understanding the program than if I just read the book. So, I have been listening to him and just learning the different functions and my head already hurts. I have not even learned yet how to get started on creating the actual websites and my head already hurts. Maybe if I break it up into days…But, I would love to know how to create the site so that I can get to work in the next few days. Ah well…It’ll take longer.

However, there is a good thing to learn about this overload. It’s not to try and cram so much information all at once. They say when studying, you should try and take it piece by piece. Study each night for thirty minutes rather than the night before a test where you study for four hours. You’re likely to remember more if you study each night than if you study the night before. Either way, I am definitely excited to get dreamweaver under my belt. I’ve never actually gotten this serious about learning it before and I know that once I start, it’ll be hard to stop. The next step will be SEO. But, that’s another story for another time. I’d write more, but I am anxious to get back to Dreamweaver, so hopefully in a few days, we’ll have some websites, huh?

If you remember my post about doing more than what you learn, I was very compassionate about the fact that you need to do more than just sitting around and learning. You need to get out there and really work of you’re never going to get anywhere. Now, this is true. However, when you are entering something brand new, you do need to learn first. Those two new things are SEO and making websites. To be completely honest, I am a total newbie when it comes to SEO. I know a few things here or there, but overall, I am a complete newbie. And with websites, I am a complete newbie. Now, I can edit things here or there if I need to, but overall, I suck. But, that’s alright. The time to learn has arrived and that’s why I installed Dreamweaver. I intend on putting together a series of content sites with the hopes of interlinking them (they’ll be medical related) and thus pushing more and more traffic to them. But, that’s the plan…So, I need to learn, but then do. If anyone knows where I can easily learn how to use Dreamweaver, please let me know.

The next few minor changes that I am making is with my science forum. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, I am finally stepping up, biting the bullet and really focusing on the forum. I am doing some work to motivate posts on the forum AND I am doing what I can to get listed on the first page of search engines with the term science forum. Once I can get linked for that, I intend on working on other keywords. The plan is to really work hard on getting the site roaring to life. Posts will come when the site gets more members and the members will come once I have good placement in the search engines. One can only hope, I guess.

I can just sit and watch people making money. My good friends all around me are making money and I want that as well. So, like I said, I am going to bite the bullet, neglect some sleep, and really get this work going. It’s almost July. I have two more months before school starts. If I want to really have things rolling and money entering my pocket, I have got to get to work and get to work hard and fast. So, there’s no more sitting around idle. Although I have been more productive these past few weeks than ever before, I need to get more productive. I don’t want to create crappy content sites, but I do need to get some of them up and running. And the science forum needs to get growing. It’s very important to me.

I said a few days ago that my friend and I were working on setting up a few content sites and split the profit fifty fifty. I would write the content and she would design the site. I would do directory submissions and she would do the SEO and stuff. Well, that site is now out. It’s all about luxury hotels. In reality, they’re about all the five star hotels in the world, but they’re really luxurious, so I figured I’d call it luxury hotels. Go there if you want to drool at the amazing places!

So, what does this mean? It means that I have found a way for me to get sites up while I learn how to design sites. It means that I can start making some more money while I am trying so desperately to learn. Since my laptop sucks and can’t handle jack shit, I have to use my Mom’s laptop to learn dreamweaver. I’m going to start learning it tomorrow probably and I hope to be able to start creating my own sites ASAP. I figure if I can get a few sites up a week, I’ll be golden. What do you think? Am I too ambitious?

I’ve been spending a considerable amount of time these past few weeks trying to increase the number of links to my sites in the hopes of increasing page rank. Now, I know that I will get some page rank for all of my sites because I have been doing some decisive link building, but the thought that came to mind when I was looking at a page rank prediction site and it was saying some things that really made me happy. It was showing some things that would allow me to finally start making some more money, but then a thought crossed my mind as I was looking at it.

Can they really be trusted? I mean, all they do is count the number of backlinks, right? I am not really sure how they work, but in a sense, they are a motivating factor. Since I saw the page rank predictions today, I have been cramming out content for a new site that will be open tomorrow, I hope. But, I wonder…Should we trust page rank predictors or are they just good for encouraging people to work harder? I don’t know personally…But what I do know is that if this site does go to a PR5 like it is suggested it will, I have a good chance of making some extra money.

You know, I really had no idea what I was going to write about when I sat down at my laptop tonight to write my blog post. My foot was tapping along to the song that I was listening to, my head was looking around, looking at the picture of my beautiful girlfriend and all of this, but I could not figure out what I was going to write about. And suddenly, it popped into my head. I could write about the music that I listen to! I could write about the music that helps me get more of my work done. And I suddenly started this article.

I use an assortment of songs to help me along. I use a little swing music, a little classic rock, a little spanish rock (Carlos Santana) and then some blues sounding stuff. The truth is, if there is anything that helps me get better with my work, it has got to be this music. Sure, I sometimes stop to sing along with the song (although I have not sang professionally in a year, so I am out of shape), I really find that the music helps me get more of my work done. I have found that having music really helps me get my work done and I am able to roll with the flow if you know what I mean. For some, though, music is a complete distraction. For others, like me, though, it makes work possible and allows me to go from having nothing done to having a lot of things done. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find a song on my play list that really gets you working, who knows? All I know is that for me, music is what works perfectly. And I got to say, the music I have is a really good choice for me.

I am going to keep this post short because I have a lot of work that I need to get done. Today I decided that I was going to spend my day writing articles. I figure if I am going to start getting checks in the mail from Google, I need to get more websites made. So, I need to actually start writing articles for these sites. Granted, I have no idea how to make templates, but I might ask my Mom or my friend to make one for me and then I can change the colors and the such to try and make them work better.

I have a series of domain names that need sites for them, but, taking the advice from my from Dean, I am going to be writing sites based more on medicine related topics. I want to try and get a couple of sites up on that topic because I know the topics relatively well and I think that, if I can get enough traffic driven to them, they could really be a nice earning website. But, I’ll need to get some domains for that and get some articles written. For now, I am writing articles for another site that my friend and I are making. Simple sites, as many as we can get up. She does the design, I write the content, it works out pretty nicely. But, I better get back to work! Thanks.

I was thinking about it today when I was talking to my friend about how I make money (I didn’t show her any of my sites…I was too afraid she’d go click crazy) and I suddenly started to realize that I use an array of ad programs on my network of sites. I don’t just use Adsense. I mean, I really use a lot of ad systems. And it got me wondering…I don’t make much money, but since I have so many different ad systems, I make more than I believe. I guess my problem is that when someone asks how much money I’ve made, I mention adsense. But, I forget the other networks. So, let’s see what I use, hm?

On Zero to Med, I use Text-Link-Ads, Adsense, AuctionAds, and Kontera. I can tell you that in a month, I make the most from Text-Link-Ads, then Kontera, and then Adsense and AuctionAds. That’s right, I make jack shit from Adsense and AuctionAds on my blog. I wish I did. But, it makes up for it with the Text-Link-Ads. It gives me a little spending money. On Science Chats, I use Adsense and AuctionAds, but make nothing from it. On DormEarning, I use AuctionAds and Adsense, but make nothing from it. On Arcades Central, though, I use Adsense and Adversal and I make a decent amount of money there. Adsense is my biggest earner on that site. And on Bronze Links Web Directory, I make my money from selling links, but no money from Adsense.

I’ve realized that I need to really focus on those sites that are not earning any money. I put a lot of work into my websites, but they’re not turning any profit. And I need to figure out a way to get them to make a profit. I wonder if I should sell a site, though. They’re not earning and I often wonder if I should just get rid of the site. Eh, I think I’ll keep them. But, if they’re not making me money by the end of the summer, I need to rethink my battle plan. They need to ALL be making something by the end of summer, case closed.

I don’t normally make so much mention about an individual site, but this directory is a project of mine that I really want to get big. And to get big, I need to continue mentioning it and continue keeping people updated on it AND continue linking back to it so that I can boost its page rank. According to these page rank prediction tools, the site needs at least 100 backlinks before a proper prediction can be given, so I have been working as hard and as fast as I can to get the links to the site with the hopes of getting a page rank for the next update. But, we’ll have to see.

Anyways, on Bronze Links Web Directory, I was given the pleasure of being the demo for the template when my friend started to sell sponsorship links. Although it didn’t send me all that much traffic and it didn’t give me any link sales, I was glad because it was a backlink and at the same time, I was given more traffic. I’m hoping that the traffic will continue and I’ll be able to get up to about 50 uniques a day. That’s my real plan. I intend on getting the site up to 50 uniques a day by the end of next week. I’ll need to submit to more directories, but that’s all good.

The one thing that I am not sure if I like is the adsense on it. Part of me likes that there is another way for me to make money on the site, but at the same time, I wonder if it is really all that important. I wonder if I’ll make any money whatsoever or if it’s just a waste of space. But, then I ran across a hosting site that had adsense on it and I just laughed. Maybe it’s extra income, who knows? All I know is that the theme is nice and the directory will hopefully be a PR4 by the time the next update comes. That’s the battle plan.

You ever get that way? You’ve got so many damn ideas, but you don’t have the money and the time to get them all done. You have your six websites and then on top of that, you have two more ideas and another one brewing in the back of your head and then, on top of all of THAT, you’re also trying your best to continue creating other content sites so that you can get a nice base earning from adsense. How on EARTH are you supposed to do all of this and not go bankrupt or deprive yourself of sleep. You need sleep. Your body can die if you deprive yourself of REM sleep, but fortunately, your body will just shut down if it gets that bad. So, how do you work with it all?

My method of trying to work with all of these ideas is two things. The first is that I have a notebook. I don’t use it all that often, but when an idea pops into my head, I write it down on the notebook. Or, if a domain name is one that I want to purchase in the future, I write it down in the notebook. For me, that notebook is where all of my ideas for future websites go. For instance, I intend on creating another directory before the summer is up. However, this one will be a bidding directory. I will build the domain name up with a PR and then get the directory up and running and have people buy. Sure, it’ll cost $30.00 to start it, but that’s worth it. I have that idea in my notebook. I use the book to manage my time. By using the book, I can tell myself what needs to be done in the future and that makes time easier.

As for the money part of things, I’ve found that there are some easy ways to get some spending money on the internet. For me, it’s always been content writing. Unfortunately, people hate spending a little more per word for exceptional content. However, I do run across some people from time to time and when I do, I get a nice gig, I write and then that is that. It’s relatively simple. I need to find a few other ways to get the money, though. I am not sure how, but I need to get some extra money into my paypal so that I can cover the costs of all these ideas that I have. Who knows? Maybe Bronze Links Web Directory will start selling loads of links and I’ll make a killing. Eh, not yet probably.

A lot of my day has been spent trying to get Bronze Links Web Directory better known. The problem with starting a brand new directory on a PR0 domain name and charging a dollar for a link is that you are stuck trying to get people to buy links on a site that has no real respect. People need to trust you to get the PR up on the site so that their $1.00 is not worth nothing. But, because of this understanding, I decided that I would offer a small contest to those that buy links.

Now, how will this work, you may be asking. It’s very simple. If you buy a link on my site which will only cost you $1.00, I will throw your name into a hat. If you buy two links on my site which will cost you $2.00, I will throw your name into a hat TWICE. Basically, the more links that you buy, the more times your name is thrown into a hat. In a few days (depending on how many links I do sell), I will draw the three names. It will be perfectly random. So, in theory, you are buying a link for $1.00 and could get that link upgraded to a featured link or get another site placed as a featured link.

As you can see from what I posted on digital point, it is a good way to get people interested in buying links and at the same time, it’ll give me more link sales. I can offer three featured links piece of cake. It’s not really all that bad really. If I can sell five or six links before I offer these three featured links, I’d be ecstatic, but naturally, I may not get any. Who knows, though? All I know is that I have spent a lot of time advertising my directory and submitting it to high page ranked directories. Now I just need to get it updated.
