If you remember the design of Science Chats, you’ll remember that there were no real ads on the site other than a tiny adsense ad on the bottom of the site. Well, as I have said, that ad unit is doing absolutely NOTHING for me. Because of this, I decided that it was time to try something else. Now, I could have put adsense in there, but I wanted to try something else. AuctionAds has been making good money for people. Because of this, I thought I might try it out and see how it does. Hey, it may turn out to be an amazing earner and an amazing thing for me.
The one thing that I like about AuctionAds is how you control the keywords. Adsense finds keywords in your content. However, with AuctionAds, you control what it says and you control what is going to appear. That is a definite plus in my book. I put keywords like biology, chemistry, and astronomy to name a few. The ads that are returning are extremely targeted. That’s what I love about them. I can control what appears. On here, I put iPod ads because I am not really sure what else I can put up. I tried blogging and SEO, but nothing appeared. So alas, I’ll hope someone likes iPods.
I recommend everyone to sign up for AuctionAds. It’s an amazing site, it offers a great way to make money and if you’re lucky, you can make quite a bit of money every day. It allows us all to make more money per month than we would if we signed up for Ebay’s affiliate program alone. And besides…It’s such an easy program and you have so much control, why wouldn’t you want to sign up for it? Try it out and you may realize that you really love the program that you’re using.

First and foremost, I thought that I would show you my new site now that I have tweaked a few things and added adsense to all of the pages. I wish to introduce to you, She Shouted. She Shouted is a site that is all about female rock singers. You see a lot of sites all about male rock singers, but very rarely do you see one about female rock singers. Because of this, I decided that the site was well worth the $61.00 that I had to spend to get it. It had eleven unique articles, it had a nice design and it was genuinely a good site. And it has given me ideas for other sites which is something great overall.
ScienceChats.com is beginning to look good for me. A few members signed up that started to post like mad and it has fortunately given me a lot of posts that I think I really needed. I also continued with my posting on myspace and getting more friends, so I think that it is working. I am going to be adding AuctionAds to it to see how it does. I have to tweak around the ads on it and try to get them appear more so that people click them. Right now, the $200.00+ investment has netted a little over $1.00. And unfortunately, that’s just not enough money for what I put into it. I am thinking a little about adding a paid subscription forum to it, but I am not sure how that would work out, so for now, that’s not going to be added.
I actually have another forum planned with a friend of mine, but this one isn’t going to start for another month or so. I know that a lot of people say that you should get one forum working before starting another, but this one actually is a good move on my part because it’s going to be on a free forum software and the topic will touch the argumentative side of all people. And since I know the perfect place to find people, it’ll be good to get it up and running. I intend on starting a debate forum with my friend and if all goes according to plan, it should be fully operational by the beginning of July. I’m hoping for sooner, but I’ll give myself a few days cushion so I don’t become like AGLOCO.
Finally, I have a plan or two with a few other friends. One is a role playing game that really doesn’t require much work on my behalf because it’s not a constant updating type of thing. You just need to find people to join and they’ll populate it. They’ll feed into their love for writing. If I know one thing, it’s how to run role playing games. If you want to see a game I used to run for a while, check out MafiaRPG. Finally, I have a site idea with my friend Nick that’ll hopefully take a few cool sports ideas and then convert them into something totally different. Stay tuned because these past few days have been REALLY good and I have a good feeling about the future.

I bought a site and got a rather good deal. I am not going to disclose the site just yet because there are some things I want to do on it before I show everyone. However, I am going to tell you the genre and what my plans are. The genre is woman rock singers. Don’t ask why I bought it because it is entirely OUT of my niche. However, as I was looking at it, I realized that the site had a lot of quality content, it had a good design and the site had a genuinely nice appeal to it. And since it is on a topic that is so interesting, I figured there would be room for improvement and the adding of MORE articles.
What I plan to do with the site is actually write more articles. Biographies aren’t that hard and even if I feel like not writing them, I can always find someone to write them for really inexpensive. I need to fool around with the ad placement because there is currently only one ad unit on the homepage, but nothing on the inner pages. But, I think I will get it work out in the end. Once that’s done, I intend on going to some music forums and posting around quite a bit, trying to get some people to the site. Some initial traffic should be good while I try and get the site linked on the search engines. One can hope, you know?
The site only cost me $61 which really is a steal considering the site comes pre-designed and there are eleven unique articles. So granted, there is nothing on the site in relation to stats and a page rank. However, what the site does have is a good look. And if I can add just a few more articles, I think that the site will be a worthy investment. And if all else fails and the site does not earn for me like I think it will, I will do what people sometimes have to do and sell it. But, I don’t think I’ll have to do that. I think it’ll earn just fine. We’ll just have to wait and see though.

Now, I know that at one time, I mentioned that it was very important to me to build relationships with people. That’s why I went with ReviewMe. I’ve often been asked why I would give up half of the money that I could make and do all the work and my answer has always been the very same thing. I do it because I hope to one day make a relationship with the ones I work with. I hope that when I become much bigger and my links are worth more and my reviews are worth more, that I’ll make a relationship with the owners of text-link-ads and reviewme. Having these relationships can actually help because it helps them as well. Then you can maybe work out deals where you might make more money.
Now, although I really don’t like to write reviews (I haven’t written any yet) without getting it through ReviewMe, I realized something. Who is going to hire me if they have no idea what one of my reviews will look like? I wouldn’t hire me. And since forty dollars is quite a bit of money to risk on a review that no one knows what will look like, I thought up a way to maybe get someone to get a review from me. I figured that once people saw how I wrote reviews, they’d be more willing to step forward and hire me. Because of this, I am going to offer one or two reviews for only $20.00.
Now, I understand that twenty dollars is still a lot of money, but as you can read on my post describing what my reviews will look like, I intend on making each review very well written and offer a lot of information on how to expand on it. I really do hope that one or two of my readers will get one of these reviews. If all goes according to plan, I will be able to get about five reviews a month. That’ll give me $100.00 profit a month. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get more. If you want a review, please send me an e-mail here: mafiamaster922@gmail.com. Thanks.

I have to say that I really am quite disappointed in myself for not working on ScienceChats.com. With a mix of laziness and being busy with other websites and my studies, I was unable to get to work on it. But, now I am getting back into it. If you remember my post about growing a forum, you’ll see that I mentioned that posting new threads often is extremely important. Well…For about a month, I hadn’t really posted any new threads, but that changed today. I began to post quite a bit of them, trying to find as much as I could in my head to post.
I think that is the hardest part about running the forum. Since I have not encountered many science classes, I don’t have as many questions that I should. Naturally, I make up some questions just to get threads, but I am sometimes stumped. That’s the hardest part right now for me to make the forum bigger. My mind can only think up so many questions for threads and I am stuck trying to find new things to write about on the forum. If I had some other people posting threads, I know that I would have an easier time. Ah well…
I do have a small idea on how I can populate a new ’section’ of the forum, but that won’t appear yet. It’ll either appear in the next two days or it won’t appear until August. I am not too sure how I want to implement it, but we will see. I guess the biggest thing that I need to focus on now is trying to get more threads started and the current threads filled with more posts. If anyone has any ideas on how I can get more threads on the site, please leave some ideas. I’m always willing to bounce ideas off with people. I really appreciate it.

Well, it appears that the rumor Google to buy Feedburner was a true rumor. Google has recently purchased the RSS website for $100 million. I would just like to say that that is a lot of Benjamin Franklins. What I’d do for a fraction of that. Maybe even .1% of that. Anyways…This can mean some very good things for us bloggers who have been trying very hard to balance the adsense on our blogs as well as the importance for a RSS feed. RSS feeds help us get better rankings for sites like ReviewMe. However, there are no ads on there, so that lowers the money you can make via adsense. Maybe all of that is about to change.
Google has been recently gobbling up companies left and right. YouTube, Feedburner, and all of these other sites are something that Google intends on expanding their empire with. Think of it as if you were an Emperor. If you wanted to expand your domain, what would you do? Create armies that were good at conquering particular enemies. If you’re going against an enemy that is primarily cavalry, don’t send in heavy infantry. Get the picture? Since Google is picking up all of these companies, they are trying to diversify and control all different types of markets. Once they control all of these markets, they can really begin to profit.
What does this mean for publishers, though? It means that Google can begin to place ads on the RSS feed, something that was not really possible before. If all does work out for them, Publishers will have more means of profiting. Sure, it’s not much for me since I have a small following. But, for those that have bigger followings, it’d be good. If you want to join my RSS feed, click here. Who knows? Maybe because of this purchase, we can expect to see more success stories appearing as more money begins to be made for people. Who knows?

I decided that I wanted to try a new program on this blog (since it is one of my higher traffic sites), so I took the auctionads I have been running over at DormEarning.com and I am going to put them in some of my posts on here. I know that if I add too much to the blog, it might become a little ‘ugly,’ but I want to try different things and see what earns best for me. Since it’s all about earning money and since I have no loyalties to any ad companies, if one does me better than another, I have no problem replacing it.
If you have no idea what AuctionAds is, go ahead and read the blog post I made over at Dorm Earning titled Auction Ads. That will explain how it works and why it is such a good program. Although I’ve made no money on that blog from it, they say that it usually takes two days from the end of an auction for you to see any money since Ebay likes to make sure the person has paid. Once that happens, you’ll have money. I know people that are making a very nice amount of money.
Now, I know people are going to start saying I am a sell-out or what have you and all of this stuff. Before anyone does, read these next words carefully. I write in this blog every day (except yesterday because of some uncontrollable event), and I explain how I intend on making money on the internet. I am going to do whatever it takes for me to succeed in my dream of paying for medical school. If that means I have to be considered a sell-out, then so be it. This is my blog and I don’t want to push anyone away, but unless the mass of people say that the ads are annoying, they’re going to continue appearing because I want to try and earn. Sorry for the slightly mean comment, but I know that as this blog gets bigger and bigger, more and more of those comments will appear. As my post feel free to advertise says…FEEL FREE! Thanks.

Since this blog is beginning to get bigger and bigger and more and more people are reading it (looking at that mybloglog these past few days has really excited me), I decided that it would benefit me and the reader to update my advertising page. I once said that I didn’t want to really monetize this site. However, I began to think about it and since I am writing on this blog, I figure making some money on what I write wouldn’t be all that bad of an idea. So, I figured it would be a good move to update it finally.
The advertising page will explain a few different ways that you can advertise on my blog. The first is, of course, through text-link-ads. I love that site and only wish more people would do it because I could really use some more of that money I get from it (I only have one ad). My other method that I mentioned was through reviewme. I figure that if I can get a couple of reviews a month, I’ll have made a little side cash to do whatever I want with. I might reinvest it or I might actually use some of it. Who knows? The final method of advertising is, of course, blog post sponsorships. That’ll get you a link at the top of my article.
So, those are my three ways of personally advertising on this site. I also have my Adsense going as well as my Kontera going. I figure if I have enough things running, I’m bound to make some money, you know? I thought about throwing auctionads on the blog, but I don’t think I really write about anything that’d work. I put it on DormEarning.com only to experiment. Who knows? It may work. If you want advertising, just go and read up on it and send me an e-mail. Thanks.

A few days ago, I was given a free domain name on digitalpoint and I decided that since it was a free domain, I might as well try something new out that I haven’t done before. Because of this, I am looking into creating a directory. I know that they can be difficult to profit on because there are so many out there, but I think that if all else fails, I can take the free site that I was able to make and flip it for some money at the end of summer vacation.
The thing that I need to decide now is what type of directory I want to make. The domain name is pretty generic, so I would do pretty good in adding whatever type of directory I want to make. I think that I will probably just make a very basic, normal directory in the hopes of getting as many sites added to it. If all else fails, I might make some money from sites looking for feature listings and I’ll get to sell it for a profit. Who knows? All I know is that I want to try it out for research and a little profit. Let’s hope for something good, eh?

Thanks to Hannes Johnson, I get to now express my top five blogs. Basically, these two blogs are the ones that I read the most and that I check often enough. I am surprised that some of them are my favorite because it is only recently that I did find them. However, they are good blogs and because of that, I read them often. Hell, I can find myself checking them three or four times a day, hoping they’ll post more than just ONCE. Ah well…Here are my top five blogs in no particular order:
1. David Lithman - He’s the reason I started this blog, so I check it quite a bit.
2. Bob Buskirk - I found this blog from Lithman’s site and the first thing that I actually thought was, “Hm…Preppy boys can make money.” But, from reading his stuff, I really have to say I’ve acquired a deep respect for him. Nice job, Bob!
3. Jon Waraas - I found his blog from Lithman as well and I had to say that it was really cool that he was able to get his house at such a young age. I hope one day I can be in the same place.
4. King Nomar - Ramon is one of my best friends when it comes to internet marketing. We bounce ideas back and forth, so I look at his blog often hoping to see his success continue to grow.
5. Andreas Bard - Andreas is my newest favorite read. Something about his blog makes everything seem personal and I like that. I go there often looking to see updates.
These are my top five favorite reads. What are your top five favorite reads? I tag these five blogs to post their top five as well. Even if you are not mentioned in my top five, feel free to post what your top five are. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get mentioned a couple of times too!
