Agloco is Going Well

News 2 Comments »

This blog post is sponsored by: Understanding Osteoporosis, a site that offers great information on osteoporosis.

I haven’t written about Agloco in a while, but I thought that I would mention it to everyone and for those that have not signed up for it, I’ll give you a little run down about what exactly it is and why everyone is joining. So, first I’ll tell you how I am doing and then give those new readers some information on Agloco. I have really started doing well with Agloco. I only have five direct referrals, which I am not overly excited about. However, I must have some good referrers because all five of those have brought in eighteen people. That is pretty nice and while there are other people that have a load more, I really am excited about it. It could give me some small amounts of money each month, but I hope to make more.

Now, for those new readers. Agloco is A Global Company. That means we run it. And basically, you get paid to surf the web. By installing a viewbar, you get the potential of getting paid for up to five hours of web surfing a month. Why is this good? Because most people surf the web for longer than five hours a month, you really could get some money just by having the viewbar to run. Now, why am I typing this post now rather than when the viewbar becomes available? There are loads of people signed up for the site, but there are many more to get signed up. However, once the viewbar is available and people SEE that there is money to be made, getting members will be a lot harder.

You get paid to surf the web, you get money when the people you refer surf the web and when their people surf the web and down a few levels. So, basically, if you refer two people and each of your two people refer two people and each of those people refer two people and so on and so forth, you could make quite a bit of money. And the best part is that you have the potential to refer loads of members. However, I implore you to sign up before the viewbar becomes available. If you sign up too late, your chances of building a large network of referrals will diminish significantly. Remember, the early bird gets it all. Sign up for Agloco before the viewbar comes out and build your network to the top! Thanks!

SciFreak Gets Its Forum at 1000

Network No Comments »

This blog post is sponsored by: Understanding Adsense, a great site offers information on Adsense and different methods of optimization with it.  For a web earner, it’s a good site to check out.

I decided on how many uniques I want SciFreak.com to get each month before I make the forum.  The reason why I have decided to make it 1000 uniques in a month is because it will allow me the chance to build up some money to afford the vBulletin license and secondly, it will ensure some rather nice growth.  What is one of the hardest points in running a forum?  Getting people to the site.  I know from personal experience that getting people to check out my forums has always been so difficult, so difficult to the point that I gave up on them and sold them.  I told my friend that I’d never get involved in forums again.  However, if SciFreak can get to 1000 uniques a month, the forum would be good to start.

So, how the hell am I going to get to 1000 uniques?  I know that is running through my mind.  Last month, as you all remember, I had 847 uniques.  That is pretty good and it was close to my goal of 1000.  Unfortunately, this month, I have only gotten to 331.  Granted, it’s only half way through the month and things could pick up as I keep posting, but 1000 uniques is quite a few uniques, that much is for certain.  I think to myself what methods I could use to increase the traffic to my site.  I thought for a little bit about spamming (nicely) forums about science.  But, I didn’t really want to do that and lose credibility.  I thought about making a myspace account and building the site up the old fashion way and once I got to about 1000 friends, made a bulletin or something.  Or maybe I’d just make it a science one and make it very blunt that the purpose of the myspace account was to advertise my blog.  I know that if I could get into one of those big groups all about science on myspace, I’d be golden.

The point is that I have decided that 1000 uniques is the cut off.  I won’t even begin construction of the forum until I have gotten to 1000 uniques.  By the time that I get the forum up and running, the site could be getting 1200 or 1300 uniques.  That’s my plan, really.  Use 1000 as the start, but by the time the forum opens, the number of uniques has increase amazingly.  I have great plans for my main science site.  I just need to get them in control and really start focusing on them.  This forum, though, I can envision being a great success, which is why I’d risk buying a vBulletin license.  Anyways…Have a great day!  And if you’re looking to buy a blog post sponsorship, post a comment and I’ll get back to you.

Many Sites or a Few Sites?

Information No Comments »

This blog post is proudly sponsored by: Themey, a site that is all about different wordpress themes.  Since I am running on wordpress, it is a good site to check out.

I decided that it was about time I actually do a little research and write an informative post rather than just ramblings about my site.  So, I sat down and decided that the best thing to write about is something that many people think about often.  Do I want to own many sites or few sites?  Or, in other terms, is it better for me to own two really big sites that earn me one hundred dollars a day or is it better for me to own fifty tiny sites that earn me one hundred dollars a day.  What is better?  I am not a believer in there being a pros and cons on both sides.  I am not a believer that it is easier to throw a bunch of articles onto a site and call it a day.  That’s not my belief anymore.

When I started this blog, I bought a notebook from the campus store and started writing down numerous ideas about the most random things.  I had Brad Pitt, credit cards, the Mafia, quit smoking and numerous other ideas coming to mind.  The most random ideas, but they were popping into my head.  I wanted to own fifty websites.  One hundred websites!  And then it dawned on me.  How was I going to create them?  I could make a deal with a web designer and get someone to make me a new template every week for a new site.  I could easily do that, but would that be the right thing to do?  WOuld I honestly profit?

I have a series of points to make about why owning a few sites is better than owning a lot.  The list is here:

  • By owning only two or three sites, you are given enough time to build them up faster rather than having to focus on ten or twenty sites.
  • Since all your attention if focused on these few sites, you are given the ability to mold them, tweak them and massage them in the way that will ensure the most success.
  • The cost for running this many sites decreases significantly.  A domain name costs quite a bit of money each year and if you want to make 50 or 100 websites, you’ll be spending quite a bit of money.  How long before adsense gives you a return?
  • If you don’t keep adding fresh content to these fifty different sites, after a while, they will become dry.

So, what can one say about these points?  It is a more ideal work method to work with one or two different sites.  I own one site that I have to update regularly for profit.  Well, two, if you count this one.  But, SciFreak.com is the only site that I need to update on a regular basis.  The reason for this is because it is my only site.  If I wanted to sit down, I could write five or six posts in one day.  However, I don’t want to do that.  By only owning one site, I can build it up.  People who read my blog know that I intend on making a forum on it and really making it large.  If I only owned one site, I’d be fine with that, so long as it made me that necessary money for medical school.

The point that I am trying to prove is that sometimes it is better to really only own one or two sites.  Sure, you might get some quick profits in the beginning, but running ten or twenty sites and really updating them becomes difficult.  I know that I wouldn’t want to try and focus on so many different sites.  Different people have different methods, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it is easier for webmasters to focus on one or two projects rather than ten or twelve.

Arcades Central Has 2000 MORE Games!

Network 2 Comments »

This blog post is proudly sponsored by: Download Ringtones, a site that offers many chances to get great ringtones.

It took a while, but ArcadesCentral.com has finally gotten the remaining 2000 games that I bought when I first made the purchase of the script.  Now, you might be wondering why this is so great, and I am going to tell you.  The fact that I have 2000 new games means that there are 2000 more things for members to do.  While it uses more disk space and bandwidth, the fact that there is so much more for members to do means that they will stick around longer.  I added a 100 game cap and I believe it is either on visit or IP, therefore, they will have to sign up sooner or later.  This is beneficial because then their e-mails are marked and I can send out newsletters to them to bring them back to the site.

The site gets a few clicks every once in a while, but it’s good knowing that there are more and more people coming to the site.  Sooner or later, I will start getting more money via adsense.  And if I don’t, I have a feeling that when YPN becomes public, I’ll be signing up for it.  They pay their publishers more, I here, and that just means better things for us.  Sure, they’re not as targeted, but one click from them is worth five from adsense, I’d rather have the one click.  But I am excited that the site has 2000 more games.  That’s more potential game sponsorships and just more places for people to potentially click ads.  All in all, these 2000 more games will hopefully bring a huge amount of traffic to the site and I can’t wait.  Time to go do some other work, but I’ll be posting later today, I expect.  Take care!

Thinking of Selling Genetics Source

Network No Comments »

Today’s post is sponsored by Cruise Ships, a site that offers a lot of information about different cruise locations.

If you remember a series of posts back, I declared that I would be a network of science only sites.  With the exception of my arcade site, I only own two sites that are related to science.  However, I’ve been thinking to myself for a while and I have to say that I am getting tired of owning Genetics Source.  And it’s not because I don’t love science, I do, I really do.  It’s because it’s not a blog.  I love to blog.  I love the look of Wordpress and I love how simple it is to put together.  I want to own a network of science blogs now, not sites.   I know, what’s the difference?  When you’re not that good at HTML and stuff, adding links to a site like Genetics Source is difficult.

I have ideas for more broad topics.  Now, I know that people say broad topics for blogs are not good, but I have to disagree.  By having a broad topic, you bring in more interest from people.  Sure, that means that there is more competition, but I have something over a lot of other people that own science sites.  Not to have an ego, but I am a science major in college.  It’s my major, it’ll be my life.  I just don’t think I want to own Genetics Source.  It’s one of those small sites and I want to build big sites.  I’ll mention in a blog post I post later today or tomorrow that I want large sites, not small ones.  Anyways…I think I might sell Genetics Source and since it is PR2, it should make some decent profit.  It’s got 14 articles and it’ll have another 8 by Wednesday, if the promise to held true by the guy that created it.  Twenty two original articles and a PR2 domain name is pretty good.  Anyways…It’s time for me to go.  Have a great day!

Hiring a Blogger

Network 1 Comment »

This blog post is proudly sponsored by: North Californian Cars a site that has a lot of information about different used cars in the Northern California area.  It looks like a great site.  Nice design and lists lots of cars in the area.  Check them out.

I was reading Allen Heat’s blog today about how he hired some bloggers for one of his sites and the idea intrigued me a little bit.  When I write content, I usually charge three cents an article, which equals about $15.00 an article for 500 words.  Now, I know a lot of people think that this isn’t that much, but when there are people willing to write articles for a penny a word, I can afford to turn the cost of writing one article and turn it into three articles.  I did that once for something else.  I paid $45.00 for a series of articles and sold them for $60.00.  I always thought about doing that, but wondered if it was a good idea.

Anyways…So, I was trying to decide whether or not I wanted to hire a blogger for a new site that I was thinking of making.  You see, Sci Freak is a site that specializes on news in science.  It has articles about the latest things going on in science or certain topics that I find interesting.  What I want to make is a blog that is about biology as a whole.  Instead of it being the news, I want it to be a blog that is about all different topics of biology.  It can describe what E Coli is or it can describe the make up of a cell with all its organelles.  I think that this site could really be good if it was well researched.  Since so many writers under price themselves, it could make a profit.  Does anyone recommend hiring bloggers or should I make the blog myself and get it somewhere and then hire bloggers when the site is making money?  Your advice would be good.

Registerfly is No More

News 1 Comment »

This blog post is proudly sponsored by: Spy Review, a site hat has all this awesome information about different spy gadgets.  Definitely a site to check out, I recommend it.

A lot of people have complained about the problems with Registerfly and because of this, their supplier, Enom, has decided that their time has come. Because of this, a lot of people might lose out on their domain names.  You see, while you might have registered your domain name via Registerfly, the actual registration of the domain takes place up the line at Enom.  And since Registerfly has been giving a lot of problems to their clients and this has an effect on Enom, the company has decided to let them go.

If you have a domain name that is registered at Registerfly, contact Enom and the domain can be easily transfered to an Enom account.  However, if you wait too long, the domain names might be lost forever and you’ll have to re-register them, risking losing them for good.  I highly advise anyone that uses Registerfly to get their domain names over to Enom right away!  Good luck everyone!

Good Week So Far

Network No Comments »

This Post is Sponsored By: Zero Percent Intro APR Balance Transfer Credit Cards.

So, this week has been relatively decent in terms of my websites.  Traffic has stayed rather consistent and there has been some small marginal gains for my websites.  I won’t be seeing an adsense check anytime soon if I don’t increase my profits, but at least the sites are starting to get some clicks, something that did not happen a lot before.  I can say that I am pleased with the way things are going, but really looking forward to the day that I get my first pay check.  I have the option of directly wiring the money to my bank, but I don’t want that.  I want to hold that check in my hand and probably take a picture of it.

I suppose one of the things that really makes this week good is that I made $50.00 commission by signing someone up for HostGator.  I thought that since that is what is running this site, I should try and get some other people to sign up.  I really am pleased with the hosting and I am glad that I did sign up for it.  If you’re interested in getting good, inexpensive hosting, then I’d suggest HostGator.  Now, I will tell you that the link is an affiliate link, but it helps me out and I appreciate everyone that does decide to sign up for HostGator under my affiliate link.  $50.00 is a lot of money for a college student and could really go a long way in my sites.

There are a ton of links still available to sponsor blog posts.  I’ve found that the money I make from these link sponsorships is actually motivation for me to write my posts more diligently.  Because they have paid me, I want to write so that I can get to the next person and then the next person.  I am really excited to start getting more sponsorships so that I can, with hope, use this money to invest in some ideas that are formulating in my mind.  I won’t say anything yet, but I do hope that I can get somewhere with these ideas…Maybe I’ll put one together when I go on Spring Break.  Anyways…It’s back to the drawing board and back to finding more sponsors.  Remember, it’s only $5.00 for a permanent link sponsorship.  E-mail me at: mafiamaster922[at]gmail[dot]com if you want to get a sponsorship!  Thanks again!

Got Some Link Sponsorships - Trying to Figure out how else to Monetize Arcades Central

Network No Comments »

Today’s post is sponsored by Scrubs - A site that specializes in scrubs. Since a doctor is what I want to be, I couldn’t say no to this site being the first to be sponsored. Check it out. I hear scrubs are even comfortable to sleep in…At least, that’s what my roommate says.

So, today I was trying to figure out ways that I could monetize my site, ArcadesCentral.com; however, I’ve run sort of short on ideas. I am not sure if I really want to add pop ups to the site, but I keep reading my friend’s blog all about AdBrite and I really do wonder if it would be a good idea to maybe sign up for it and put it onto my site. I mean, it wouldn’t hurt and it could give me some small amounts of money every day. It, unlike Adsense, pays for impressions, I believe, so if I was getting a lot of traffic, I could actually make a decent amount of money. I just don’t know if Adsense really is the one that will make my arcade a lot of money. I keep hearing that they are paying less and less to their publishers and I long for the chance when YPN becomes public for everyone and I can switch to them. I hear that they pay so much more per click for arcades than Adsense does. Does anyone have any personal experience with YPN and arcades? Let me know.

In other news, I decided that I would run link sponsorships. People were pretty excited about it and so was I. As you can see, I got someone to buy a sponsorship. For five dollars, someone gets mentioned on my blog post, gets a little information about their site and get traffic to their site. I think that it really is a good deal for them and might, in the future, increase the price. If this site goes to PR5, the price would definitely go up. I intend on getting this site to PR6 or something before the next year is over, so I really do intend on making money off of this site even if it is just small amounts. Any amount helps in the growth of my network and it can really aid in my goal to pay for Medical School. Maybe I should make a post in the future about how I am doing in college. Anyways…I just thought I’d let everyone know that things were going good and also ask that question about how to make more money out for my arcade site. Have a great day!

Decision on Site Profit

Network No Comments »

I have decided that I will be selling sponsorships on this site.  Basically, all it will be is a short little sentence about your site at the top and a link to your site and then I go on with a normal post that I would have anyways.  I hope that this will allow for some profit to go into other ventures.  And it’s always good to have a little extra income just in case something happens, such as my hosting going under and I need to find new hosting fast.  Either way, I’ve decided that it should make some decent money and allow for me to invest in other ventures.

So, I decided that since this site is PR4, that the link would be permanent and that as time goes on, the sub-pages would become high PR as well, that I would sell each individual link for $5.00.  Now, I advertised on digitalpoint in the hopes of getting money; however, I did not get anyone to snag it.  So, I decided that I would post here offering people the chance to buy them.  I figure that sooner or later, people will start snagging them up and I wanted to give my readers the chance to get some decent link backs and some good traffic.  Something I’ve learned is that people tend to click the links that sponsor them out of pure curiosity.  So it could really help in traffic.

If you are interested in purchasing a link to sponsor one of my blog posts, please send me an e-mail at: mafiamaster922 [at] gmail [dot] com.  I am sorry that I did not make it a link that would lead right to e-mail, but I don’t want to get a load of spam and all of that.  Just put in the subject: “Blog Sponsorship” so I don’t start freaking out if I start getting tons of e-mail.  I’m not used to get very many e-mails, so it surprises me sometimes…That’s pretty sad…Anyways.  I’ll place you on a first come first serve basis for the number of blog posts that you want.  If you have any questions, you can ask me.  I am sorry if this seems like a sales pitch, but I do want to start getting some sponsorships.  Anyways, I am not really feeling all that well, so I am going to probably lay down.  Have a great day and thanks!
