I’ve been dodging the idea around in my head for some time now about how to make this site profitable so that I could maybe get some extra income each week or month.  So, I was trying to figure out what I could do.  I already signed the site up for Text-Link-Ads and I was approved; however, no one has purchased a link yet.  I suppose it will take time, but I wonder whether or not anyone will buy any.  This site isn’t like…amazing!  It’s PR4, has gotten a almost fifths of the uniques that the site got last month in the five days it’s been around, and it’s just some place where I throw my progress down.  So, I don’t really expect to walk around making tons of cash on Text-Link-Ads.  So, I am rather stuck in figuring out how to maybe get some extra cash on this site.

I don’t think I want to add adsense to the site.  I mean, I know that I see friends of mine that are making ten or fifteen bucks with similar stats to their site as mine, but at the same time, adsense is just really big.  I don’t want to start throwing ads everywhere on this particular site.  A site that is part of my network, yeah, I’ll gladly put ads onto it.  But, for this site, I don’t want to pollute it with them.  It’s a personal blog that tracks my progress.  So, what can I do to maybe make some money on this blog without making it appear as if my only goal with it is to make some money.  Even if I could just make enough money to cover hosting per month.  That’d be great.

So, I was reading Lithman’s blog and saw that he was sponsoring posts with links.  It sounds like a great idea and I figure that I might try that.  Just a simple: “this post was sponsored by *insert link here*.”  It’s different than making money via adsense because it’s straight forward payment.  You’re guaranteed a set amount of money.  Another thing I was thinking about was maybe writing site reviews.  I could make a category titled reviews and I could charge like ten bucks to review their site for a permanent post.  That could make me some money, but I don’t know if I want to start spamming my blog with random sites.  I know that I want to try the sponsorship thing, but I need to think for a little bit about whether or not I want to write blog posts for the site.  If anyone does comment, can you let me know what other ways might be a good idea to monetize a blog like this?  Thanks!  Have a great day!
