Very Busy Week

Network, Personal Life 4 Comments »

When I came back to college this semester, I did not expect it to be so busy. Between my classes, my work study program and trying to keep my monetizing sites earning, I haven’t had time to do anything on this blog. I feel bad about that because I know how I hate not getting to read a blog that I am interested in. I love to read Lithman’s blog and I hate the weekends because he never replies.  No offense, David, but you have GOT to post on the weekends!  Seriously, I find myself going there about four or five times a day on the weekends.  I just like to read about other people doing good on their websites.  So, I am going to get back to posting again now that I am in the mood of school, girlfriend, work and online work.

So, for the bulk of what you people read my blog for.  My sites.  I sold ZapMix.com, but the guy never contacted me for the domain name transfer.  I am going to send him a private message today and see if he wants the domain.  It got a PR of 1 in the last update, so I suppose that is good for the buyer.  It’s a little better than a 0, but definitely nothing to brag about.  Since I am on the topic of PR, I can say that almost all of my sites have received some sort of a PR.  So, I am going to post them all with their PRs.

www.zerotomed.com PR0 –>  PR4

www.scifreak.com PR0 –>  PR3

www.geneticssource.com PR0 –>  PR2

It really is exciting to see that my sites are starting to get PR.  Now I just need to continue getting higher links and get these sites up to PR5.  I heard somewhere that PR4 is nothing really to brag about; however, if you can get up to a PR5, then you’ve gotten somewhere.  ArcadesCentral.com has not gotten a PR, but it was way to new for there to be any PR.  However, that WILL change when the next update comes.  I know that it is going to get somewhere and that is what I am excited about.  My adsense earnings have been down; however, that’ll change over time.  I need to think about where I place my ads on SciFreak.com.  I might need to try some more in-text ads.  That might get more clicks.  ArcadesCentral.com just needs more traffic.  So far, it’s just been my friends really that go to the site.  Once they start telling their friends, then the site will get somewhere.

Classes have been rather good.  I am going to take things really serious this year compared to last semester.  I slacked a bit and I am going to recover big time this semester.  I am in a play with an ex-Broadway actor as the director, so I am excited to do that.  It’ll really turn out well.  Liz and I are doing pretty good.  We’ve had our ups and downs, but I do think that we’re good together.  She makes me happy and while she doesn’t like that I use the computer as much as I do to do my work, I know that she respects me and understands why I have to do it.  I love her and I can say that I am very lucky.  May all my readers be as lucky to find someone like I did.

Anyways…My sites are doing good, traffic is impressive, and I can anticipate some nice earnings once traffic grows even more.  I hope that I can keep posting daily, but if I can’t, I will do my best to do it every other day.  Stay tuned for more of my posts and look forward to hearing about my first check from Adsense…in many months!  Have a great day!

Working Along

Network No Comments »

Things are looking good for me right now when it comes to my network.  My sites are performing the exact way that I want them to.  I don’t expect them, at this time, to be making me millions of dollars or any of that.  Point is, I don’t really expect them to be making much money at all right now.  For right now, my goal is to build the sites that I have.  I don’t want to get any more sites, at least, not new ones.  If someone knows of any science sites that are being sold or if someone HAS any science sites they want to sell, feel free to drop me a comment and I’ll e-mail you.  But I don’t want to start any new ones until the current ones have grown.

ArcadesCentral.com has done EXACTLY what I wanted it to do.  At the minute that I am writing this post, it has gotten 144 unique visitors.  This is its third day of really being open and the site is doing amazing.  There are tons of people going to the site to play games and I can honestly say that this site is going to be an earner.  People actually click the ads.  I’m not saying that I am making much money from it; however, the fact that people actually click is a sign that maybe as more people go to the site, more people will start clicking.  I am really excited to see this site doing well.  If you have an arcade site that gets at least 100 uniques a month and are interested in selling it, please leave a comment and I will send you an e-mail.  I plan on getting a series of arcade domains to push to my one main domain in the hopes of getting mass amounts of traffic.

I came back to school today and things are going to be great.  I will have to devote a lot of my time to studying since in the end, I want to become a doctor.  However, I know that if I focus my time and give myself maybe forty five minutes to an hour a day to work, I will make a lot of money.  I just need to focus and make sure that I get what needs to be done…DONE.  If you have a science site or an arcade and are looking to sell it, once again, please leave a comment and I will e-mail you.  Even if I am not interested, I will e-mail you to let you know that I am not interested.  Thanks again and have a great day!

Good Day for Adsense

Network 1 Comment »

Today’s post will be short because I am packing to head back to college; however, I thought I’d give you all a little update.  Today I learned what SciFreak will make me for money.  One link was clicked today and it was worth $1.65.  I was amazed at how much it went for.  But, that’s not what the great part is.  The great part is that Arcades Central got three clicks today.  Granted, they were not high profiting clicks like SciFreak; however, they are clicks.  And it proves that if I continue to get more and more people to the site, I’ll get more and more clicks.  I might never make more than a few cents a click, but I’ll be getting lots of clicks and that’s what is important.

Genetics Source hasn’t earned me any money yet, but that’ll take time.  All I need to do is continue building links for it and soon, traffic might start coming.  I’ve been adding links to all of my sites.  I do one or two directory submissions a day in the hopes of gradually building link backs to my site.  My PR on most of my sites might actually go somewhere if I continue adding links to my site.  However, it might not do anything.  Either way, I am hoping more for traffic than anything else.  It’s traffic that gets me clicks, not page rank.  Anyways…I had better get back to packing.  Have a great day everyone!

Adsense Added and a New Site

Network No Comments »

Well, things are obviously going pretty good for me right now.  The only thing that could make them better is if someone came along and offered me something other than shit for zapmix.com.  Oh well.  But, things are really going rather well for me right now.  This morning, I got confirmation that my site, ArcadesCentral.com was now operational.  So, I immediately went in and set the adsense code so that it was directed to my ID number and not pub-”123456789.”  Although funny, it would have probably cost me some money had I not realized it.  It’s alright.  Things are all good and now the goal I have is to make the site grow.  I want to get as many people on it as possible so that I can maybe start a viral marketing plan.  It’s got a rather nice ‘tell a friend’ feature which is really cool.  It’ll hopefully allow for some viral marketing.  Add the fact that people can take the games and put them in their blogs and their myspace accounts and I’ve really got a chance to see some growth.  We will have to wait and see, though.

The other good news is that I finally added adsense to SciFreak.com.  I was worried that it might not be a good idea, but I spoke with some people and they all said that it was a good time to add it.  I figure that I can hopefully make some money from it and the money will motivate me above all to write more.  My mental will be that if I write more, I will get more traffic and make more money and that’ll make me write more and then I’ll make more money.  Add the fact I love science and I really feel good about the site.  I really have a good feeling today about my network and I am really in a good mood about it.  I am anxious to see how things go over the next couple of days.

In final news, GeneticsSource.com has a nice small collection of articles.   I got an amazing deal from someone and he wrote me 10 350 word articles for fifteen bucks.  I couldn’t pass the deal up, even if it is paying someone to write which isn’t always the greatest thing.  So, I had him write about ten different genetic disorders and it really was good.  I have a good feeling that all the information I have added to the site will really allow for some growth.  One thing I am torn about is whether I should link to all my other science sites with each other.  Like…Should I put Genetics Source and SciFreak and link them together for cross traffic?  Anyways…I’m going to go do some other work before I head off to bed.  Let’s hope this growth only means success!

Add Adsense

Network 2 Comments »

I was talking to my friend, Nomar today and we were talking about my sites.  The topic came up about whether or not I should add adsense to my blog as well as SciFreak.  He said that I should add it and that with the amount of visitors I’ve been getting each day, I could probably walk away with .50 a day from each of my two blogs.  That sounds nice, making $1.00 a day, but I wonder if it is worth it.  I know that the people here wouldn’t want to see adsense ads on every post, so I don’t know if I’d add it unless I was closer to getting around 100 uniques a day.  I’m nowhere near that, but if I was getting that, then I’d think it’d be smart to add adsense.  But for now, I don’t know about adding it.

As for SciFreak, I am unsure as well.  Part of me says, “Go for it, Jacob!”  But then I think, I don’t want my readers getting pissed because there are a bunch of ads.  I mean, the traffic has increased and it’s going alright, but I could get more traffic.  I figure if I had a lot more traffic, when I added the ads discreetly, they would click and not be overly upset.  Maybe if I add them discreetly, things will be okay.  I am unsure about whether or not I should add adsense, so I’m looking for the feedback from my readers.  Think it’d be good for the sites I run or bad?

I Chose my Network

Network 5 Comments »

I see a lot of people on these sites having a choice network, something they specialize in. Sure, there are people that own all different types of sites, but then there are people that own specific sites. My friend, Lithman is specializing in his sports sites. Sure, he has a few myspace sites, but those are just to earn some money on the site while he builds his network of sports sites. That’s what I want to do. I want to build a network of sites that specialize around my interest. I’ll have my few little sites that I don’t have to run, but make a profit. I’m going to be putting together a top of the line arcade and that’ll make me some money.

It’s called ArcadesCentral. Notice the s. I call it that because my plan is to build a super arcade. A lot of people buy arcades and try and profit from them, but few profit from it. I want to change that. When people make arcades, I want to give them the option for me to buy them. I don’t care if the arcades are making them money or not. I’ll be buying them based on the fact they get unique visitors. But, what I will do is take the arcade off of that domain. I will then direct that domain to my ArcadesCentral arcade in the hopes of building one big arcade. I figure if I get five or six different domains that are all getting unique visitors, then I could really see something. It’ll cost me a pretty penny, but it might give me a nice profit while I am building my network.

So, what is my network? Science. I’ve decided that I am going to specialize in science sites. Since I own SciFreak.com and Genetics Source, I figure that it might be a good idea to stick to that. I could build a nice pretty network around SciFreak.com and it might really get somewhere. Sure, it’ll take a while, but I LOVE science. And if you love something, you need to love it and work on it.  And that’s why I am choosing a science network.  I could work on credit card sites and insurance sites because they make a lot from adsense, but I don’t like that stuff.  I like science.  So, my decision has been made.  I am going to specialize on science and that’s all.  If I find something that I like, I might create a site or buy a site about it.  But overall, I am going to focus on science.  Science is my major and medicine will be my life.  I might as well write about it and love it.  Have a great day everyone!

It’s Been a While

Network, Personal Life No Comments »

I wanted to first and foremost say that I am sorry for not posting in a while. I’ve lost some link exchanges because of it and I really just wanted to say that I apologize for it. I’ve been busy working on some other aspects of my network that I forgot about posting on the hub of the entire network. But, I think that once people see what I’ve been doing, they might be somewhat understanding. At least, I hope so. So, what has happened in these many days that I’ve neglected my blog?

The creation of GeneticsSource.com has finally taken place and four of the articles have been added to the site. I am excited because it is an interesting topic and I really like the design. If things go according to plan, I should have the twelve articles on there by the end of the week and then I will start updating my own stuff which will primarily be news. It’s a difficult topic to write about if you’re not very interested in science, but I love science, hence my major. Everyone should definitely check out GeneticsSource.com and become educated in such an amazing topic of science.

Now, as for my main science site, SciFreak.com, things couldn’t be better. Well, they could if I decided to add Adsense and I was starting to profit from it. However, despite the fact I am still trying to build its credibility, the site is really doing rather nicely. I wrote an article about Celox and I got TWO comments from CEOs of big companies, one of a sister company to the Celox provider and one from a competitor to the Celox provider. It is rather interesting to see these comments. I never once expected to get feedback from such powerful people, but here we are, getting said feedback. So, it is really quite exciting. If you’re interested in reading about this new blood clotting devise that will save numerous lives on the battlefield, click here.

In personal news…School starts next week.  I am incredibly excited for it to start because I want to make amends for last semester.  I did alright, but I could’ve done much better.  I need to learn to manage my time and I intend on doing that.  I’ll be studying a lot more and when I do get online to do my work, I won’t be clowning around.  When I get on to write a post, I will write the post and that’ll be that.  I won’t just cruise the web doing bullshit.   I need to focus.  I love the internet and would love to make money off of it, but my dream is to become a doctor, so I need to focus on that.  However, my goal is to still pay for medical school using ONLY my internet earnings.  So, we’ll have to see how that goes.

Things with Liz and I are going really nicely.  She went away to Florida for a week with the school’s swim team and I never realized I could miss someone so much.  But I really did miss her.  I am glad that I met her and I really think she and I will last throughout college.  If we get past that, then that’s amazing.  But, I like taking it one day at a time.  She’s really a great girl and I was lucky to have met her, truly, without a doubt, lucky to have met her.  And, she tolerates my work.  Granted, I buy her gifts every once in a while with money I’ve earned, but she still tolerates my work online, which is an incredibly nice thing.  It’s hard to do work when the person you’re with thinks you’re just playing around.

So overall, things are going rather well for me here.  I’ve made a lot of money doing content writing for someone.  It was a $300+ job and it’s finishing up.  I intend on using that money for use on other sites.  I have some things going on for sales and purchases, so we’ll have to see how things go.  To the link exchanges I’ve lost…I won’t remove you yet from my blog roll, but I do ask that you add me back to yours if you’d like to keep mine.  I am sorry for not posting, but I am going to start again.  My laziness and neglect for zerotomed.com is over.  Have a great day and a great week everyone!
